Days after party supreme leader Rahul Gandhi lamented that some party leaders in Gujarat are BJP’s agents, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy lamented that some Congress MLAs are maintaining `good’ relations with the BRS. Speaking at the CLP meeting he advised them to focus on how to re-elect in their constituencies.
“I am getting information that some MLAs want to have good relations with the BRS party. If that is the case, do you think that the party will not contest against you in the next elections? Being like that may not cause temporary problems, but in the future you will have to face difficulties. It will also affect your victories,” CM warned them.
He made it clear that they should treat the opposition party with the feeling of being political opponents. He gently warned the MLAs to change their behavior. The Chief Minister expressed his anger over the performance of Congress MLAs and government whips. He was furious and asked what are you doing when the opposition BRS MLAs are raising agitations in the Assembly?
CM Revanth expressed his impatience that if they are trying to block the Governor’s speech in the House, you are not even responding, you are not keeping your mouth shut, this is not the right method. He warned that the government whips should change their behavior.
The CM suggested that the opposition’s criticism should be faced head on and that members should definitely come to the House. He said that he will meet with MLAs district-wise. He said that we will have a lunch meeting with MPs and MLAs of all districts from the 6th of next month. He said that we will discuss everyone’s performance.
Revanth Reddy expressed his anger at Nagarjuna Sagar MLA Kunduru Jaiveer for sitting on his phone while the CM was speaking at the CLP meeting and after a while he took the phone and left.
“What is the point of going out like that while I am talking about the attendance of members in the House? How can you not have the patience to sit in the CLP meeting?”, the CM is reported to have said that the future will be good only if we follow discipline.
He said that winning as an MLA for the second time is a testament to a leader’s performance, rather than winning for the first time, and that is why all MLAs should be vigilant.
