Chief Minister Revanth Reddy praised former governor Ch. Vidyasagar Rao was an ideal political leader for Telangana society. Releasing the autobiography of Chennamaneni Vidyasagar Rao on Sunday, he said that he worked from student politics at Osmania University to the president of the joint AP BJP and a Union minister.
He recalled that Vidyasagar Rao had worked as the governor of Maharashtra and Tamil Nadu states. He said that despite his long political experience, there are no allegations against Vidyasagar Rao. He said that Jaipal Reddy, Vidyasagar Rao and Dattatreya are second generation leaders of the state. But, he deplored that there are no notable leaders in the third generation.
He reminded that Vidyasagar Rao had done a padayatra for Godavari waters and said that Vidyasagar Rao’s experience is necessary for the development of Telangana.
“We will use the experience of opposition leaders wherever necessary. We are constantly working to make Telangana a trillion-dollar economy. I have requested Prime Minister Modi to cooperate with the Center on the construction of metro and regional ring roads. Only with the Center’s cooperation will the development of the states be completed quickly. There is a great need to get permissions for Hyderabad Metro” he added.
Former Governor Vidyasagar Rao said that no matter who the leaders are and which party they belong to, there will be a national feeling. He recalled that Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar joined Buddhism to not give up his Indian identity despite facing many insults. He recalled that Sripada Rao worked a lot for the Yellampalli project at that time, which is why the BJP had decided to name the project after him.
He said that Senior NTR praised Advani for performing the Aswamedha Yagam during the Rath Yatra. He said that the ruling party and the opposition should always be one. He praised Revanth Reddy’s ideas of Hydra and Moosi revival as being good for Hyderabad.
Stating that most of Vidyasagar Rao’s family members are leftists, Haryana Governor Bandaru Dattatreya praised Vidyasagar Rao for his commitment to the poor and Dalits. Stating that Vidya Sagar Rao was anxious for water to come to Telangana, he recalled that Vidya Sagar Rao had undertaken a program called Jal, Jungle, Zameen. Odisha Governor Kambhampati Haribabu, Union Minister of State Bandi Sanjay Kumar, and State Minister D Sridhar Babu also spoke.
