The Congress cadre in Telangana cultivating a suspicion on the political maneuvers of chief minister and TPCC chief Revanth Reddy. Several senior party leaders are suspecting his `loyalty’ to the Congress party. In view of his previous association with RSS, ABVP, BJP and his active role in TDP, they fear he may push the party into severe crisis at any movement.
At this juncture, BRS working president KT Rama Rao pushed a bomb shell alleging that Revanth Reddy was fostering plans to join the BJP after the Lok Sabha elections. Contrary to accusations made by the Congress central leadership against Prime Minister Narendra Modi, he pointed out that Revanth Reddy was toeing the BJP line by terming Modi as his ‘Bade Bhai’ (elder brother) and appreciating the ‘Gujarat’ model.
Rama Rao termed Revanth Reddy as the first Congress leader to defect to the BJP, for which he had already started preparations. He challenged Revanth Reddy’s silence on the allegations of his defection to the BJP, and failure to declare publicly that he would serve the Congress throughout his lifetime.
It may be recalled that when Prime Minister Modi himself termed his government too a `corrupt’ one and leveled accusations against Rahul Gandhi, during his election rallies in Telangana, Revanth Reddy remained silent. Didn’t attempt to deny Modi’s accusations. Even his ministers were silent.
Last month, during the Parliament budget session when Congress chief minister Siddaramaiah went on a dharna in New Delhi protesting against the centre’s biased attitude towards non- BJP states in funds allocation, Revanth Reddy was silent. Though chief ministers MK Stalin and P Vijayan openly conveyed their solidarity with Siddaramaiah’s protest, Congress chief minister Revanth Reddy maintained silence.
He was also silent over the arrest of Delhi Chief Minister Aravind Kejriwal, who is partner of Congress-led INDIA block, though all over the country Congress leaders condemned this act of the Modi government.
