Chief Minister K. Revanth Reddy praised former chief minister K. Rosaiah for making Telangana a surplus state with his efficient financial administration. He reminded that the reason why Telangana had a surplus budget of Rs 16,000 crores at the time of bifurcation was because of Rosaiah.
Speaking at the Rosaiah’s third death anniversary meeting organized by Dr Konijeti Rosaiah Memorial Forum at Hitex Exhibition Center, he said that when he was in the opposition, Rosaiah advised him that the opposition should question the government and the government should respond, by which the problems of people should be resolved.
Revanth said that because Rosaiah played a key role as a ‘trouble shooter’, YSR’s work became easy in the united AP. He said that no matter who the Chief Ministers were, Rosaiah was number 2 in the government and Rosaiah never wanted to surpass them.
Revanth Reddy recalled that he used to confront Rosaiah in the council, but later he used to call him to his chamber and give advice and suggestions. He asserted that the former CM of the united AP, the late Rosaiah, was a true Hyderabadi.
He deplored the absence of Rosaiah’s statue in Hyderabad city and promised to install a statue of Rosaiah in the city by next year. He recalled once he met Rosaiah, when he was the chief minister, along with the leader of opposition Chandrababu Naidu.
He recalled that during the discussion on Telangana, Rosaiah had told Chandrababu that he was a Hyderabadi. ‘Look Chandrababu.. I have nothing in Chirala.. I sold everything there 50 years ago and came to Hyderabad and built a house in the Ameerpet area. Except that I am from Hyderabad.. For me, there is no difference between that state..? This state..? Both regions are equal to me. I am from the Hyderabad region,’ CM Revanth revealed.
He said that if there is anyone who is a true Hyderabadi today, it is Rosaiah garu.
