In view of large scale protests by environmentalists, students and educated people against acquiring of lands around University of Hyderabad, Chief Minister Revanth Reddy is reportedly considering shifting the University itself to Fourth City. In view of serious comments made by both the High Court and also the Supreme Court, the state government was forced to stop its drastic action of taking possession of over 400 acres.
It is also reported that the issue of giving title to the Kancha Gachibowli lands has also been reconsidered. It also seems that the Revanth Reddy government is planning to establish an eco park and a wildlife conservation center on those lands. Environmentalists and students are urging the Congress government not to undertake construction on wildlife lands.
It is understood that government officials are holding talks to construct a wildlife sanctuary and eco-park at that location.
Moreover, the Congress government has become serious about the comments made by BRS Working President KT Rama Rao that no one should buy Telangana government lands.
KTR’s comments that the lands purchased from the Congress government will be taken back after BRS came to power have caused a huge uproar in Telangana politics. The Revanth Reddy government has expressed its anger over KTR’s comments.
To this extent, it is inquiring about the details of the government lands sold by the previous BRS government. How many acres were sold? It is calculating how much money was collected. The officials are collecting details such as the trees cut down in those lands and violations of rules. It also seems that they are considering issuing notices to those who bought lands from the BRS government.
Meanwhile, the Cyberabad police have imposed restrictions in the Kancha Gachibowli area. They said that restrictions have been imposed on the movement of others in view of the pending cases in the Supreme Court and High Courts on an area of 400 acres. The police have issued warnings that no one should move around in a way that disturbs the peace.
They said that strict action will be taken if officers on duty are obstructed. It was revealed that a ban is being imposed on the entry of people with malicious intentions in the Kancha Gachibowli lands. Madhapur DCP Vineeth said that everyone should strictly follow the restrictions. These restrictions are likely to remain in place until the court verdict is issued.
