Chief Minister Revanth Reddy met the out-going Telangana Governor CP Radhakrishnan, who is relieving from his duties as Incharge Governor of the state on Monday. The Chief Minister, accompanied by Deputy Chief Minister Bhatti Vikramarka and other ministers went to Raj Bhavan and bid a farewell to Radhakrishnan.
Revanth Reddy honored Radha Krishnan with a shawl. It may be recalled that in recent postings and transfers of Governors, Radhakrishnan was posted as Governor of Maharashtra. After the resignation of Governor Dr Tamilsai Soundarajan, Jharkhand Governor Radhakrishnan was given charge of Telangana too.
Meanwhile, Radhakrishnan wished the people of Telangana on the occasion of Bonallu. He said that he wanted the blessings of Mother Mahankali Ellamma to be with the people and that the state should be green with crops.
During their meeting, CM Revanth Reddy and Governor Radhakrishnan discussed various matters concerning the state before attending assembly meetings later in the day. This encounter marks the conclusion of Radhakrishnan’s term in Telangana as he prepares for his new role in Maharashtra.
Former Tripura Deputy Chief Minister Jishnudev Verma, who was posted as Governor of Telangana will take charge as the Governor of Telangana on 31st of this month at 5 pm. He will take oath at Raj Bhavan. Telangana High Court Chief Justice Alok Aradhe will administer oath to him.
Jishnu Dev Varma was born on 15 August 1957. Jishnu Dev Varma, who belonged to the erstwhile dynasty of Tripura state, joined the BJP in 1990 during the Ram Janmabhoomi movement. He previously served as the Deputy Chief Minister in the BJP-led coalition government in Tripura from 2018 to 2023.
But in the 2023 assembly elections, Jishnu Dev Varma contested from Charilam constituency in Sepahijala district and lost. Jishnu Dev Varma is also a writer. He recently released a book of his memoirs titled “Views, Reviews & My Poems”. Apart from that, Jishnu Dev Varma is also the President of Badminton Association of India. His wife’s name is Sudha Dev Varma.
