Though presently TDP chief N. Chandrababu Naidu has decided to continue his association with the BJP-led NDA and ruled out the possibility of shifting his alliance towards INDIA block, Congress leaders are said to have decided to keep negotiating channel opening towards him through Telangana Chief Minister A Revanth Reddy.
According to sources, Congress and his command asked him to maintain cordial relations with Naidu keeping in view of his need in future. According to Congress sources, they are expecting that both Chandrababu Naidu and Nitish Kumar may not continue for a long time in alliance with BJP.
It may be recalled that both of them were bitterly insulted by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. In Andhra Pradesh even after reviving alliance with TDP continued their soft corner towards Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy and hardly showed any interest in the poll campaign in the state.
Only a week ahead of the polling, sensing people’s anger towards YS Jagan, both Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah started making harsh comments against Jagan’s regime. Only since then Election Commission also started taking some harsh steps like shifting DGP and few other senior officials.
Revanth Reddy, personally spoke to Naidu on Thursday over phone and congratulated him for his success in the assembly polls. Extending his greetings on the occasion of assuming the office of Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh, Reddy asserted that the two Telugu states should continue cordial relations.
He even proposed to cooperate with each other in resolving pending matters related to the AP Reorganization Act in a friendly atmosphere. On the previous day, he expressed his interest to attend the oath taking ceremony of Naidu, if he is invited. Ofcourse, he said after consulting his party top leaders.
According to sources, Revanth Reddy has already discussed with Chandrababu Naidu on the possibility of shifting his alliance towards INDIA block. But Naidu, who is very cautiously refusing to change his alliance at this stage, politely refused to discuss that issue. He also reportedly avoided stating that this is not the time to discuss such issues.
