Retired IPS ABV’s political Entry pushes TDP Leadership Into Defence

The sudden announcement of retired DGP AB Venkateswara Rao’s political entry is reportedly sending shocking waves among TDP leadership. Though he is known as a victim of former Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy and he openly declared that he would stand by the side of Jagan’s victim and want to save Andhra Pradesh from the return of Jagan into office, the TDP leadership is maintaining silence and keenly watching his moves.

Before declaring about his political entry he has reportedly contacted several neutral people, who are known as part of Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu’s ‘think tank’ and tried to discuss with them. But most of them said to be kept away fearing that would send wrong signals to the coalition government.

Though AB Venkateswara Rao has not indicated any plan of entering any political party or to start a party of his own, unlike retired CBI Joint Director JD Lakshmi Narayana, he only mentioned that he would stand by Jagan’s victims, his movements are seems to be closely observed by TDP leadership.

It may be recalled that a large number of TDP activists and also its strong supporters are angry towards the coalition government for not showing interest to act against irregularities and corrupt practices flared up during the previous government. Even on the allegations mentioned in the series of White Papers released by Chandrababu Naidu, the government is hardly acting.

Moreover, several key officials known for their proximity with Jaganmohan Reddy and facing severe accusations of corruption and irregularities have been given key positions in this government also, ignoring honest officials and also those who were victims of the previous regime.

AB Venkateswara Rao has gained prominence as an honest and straightforward officer. Soon after the return of Chandrababu as Chief Minister, many expected his services would be utilized for cleaning up of the administration. But surprisingly after a long gap he was appointed as a little-known Police Housing Corporation Chairman, which was felt by many TDP leaders as insulting him.

But, keeping up with his ‘self respect’, ABV did not take up the assignment or was not rejected formally, but suddenly announced his political entry. His announcement is said to be sending a `red signal’ on the image of the coalition government on the issues of corruption. Without touching any political aspects, he simply said  that he is coming to work for a better society and not expecting any posts.

He said that he has no differences or personal enmity with Jaganmohan Reddy or any other leader. However, he said that he will definitely expose Jagan’s irregularities. His symbolic visit of the Kodikatthi Srinu family, before announcing his political entry, itself indicates that he is intending to raise issues that expose both YSRCP and also TDP regimes.

He said that this is a new chapter for him Jagan will not let go of irregularities. Moreover, he asserted that he has complete information regarding Jagan’s irregularities. He said that Jagan’s illegal financial empire started with Sandur Power and has now reached lakhs of crores.

He said that money from abroad has been deposited into the account of that company, which was all public money. He said that the looted money will be recovered legally. He said that anyone can give information to Jagan’s victims through WhatsApp number 7816020048.

All these issues are in public domain and TDP, Jana Sena and BJP leaders have themselves accused several times. But hardly any attempts are being made by the present government to initiate legal steps against those charges. Now, ABV’s mission is likely to expose this government’s compromise with the corrupt regime.
