Senior IPS officer A B Venkateswara Rao, whose suspension was revoked a few hours before his retirement on Friday after five years of victimization by YS Jaganmohan Reddy’s government, expressed pleasure to get the opportunity of retiring from service in uniform.
Asserting that he would continue in public life even after retirement, he said that he has seen bad people in his service and hopes that he will get an opportunity to punish evil forces in future by giving protection to good people.
AB Venkateswara Rao said that throughout his service he worked as a professional to fight injustice and worked hard to protect the law. He has made it clear that he has not done injustice to anyone and is retiring with complete satisfaction. He said that he won the love of lakhs of people by not doing injustice to anyone. He revealed that honesty, righteousness and struggle have saved him.
He said that he is retiring with complete satisfaction and has worked with integrity and honesty for all the days in the service. “I have seen many people professionally and remember that many people shed tears after seeing my difficulties. I am retiring today only professionally, I will not retire in fighting against injustice”, he added.
He said that he will continue to fight on behalf of the victims as long as he lives, and will continue to work to punish evil forces and protect the poor even after retirement. Venkateswara Rao, who fought against the government for years, joined the duties on the day he was supposed to retire. He took charge in the morning and retired in the evening.
ABV holds the position of Director General in the police department. Meanwhile, RTC MD Dwaraka Tirumala Rao congratulated AVB on his retirement. He hugged and congratulated ABV. Both of them are the same batchmates.
In an emotional tone, ABV recollected his professional journey, “ I studied engineering and first worked in Tata Motors. Even if I was in the same organization.. or went to America.. now my life would have been different. As an IPS, I have worked to fight injustice, and oppression. In my service, I always worked to protect the law and prevent irregularities and do justice. Except facing injustice, I never did injustice to anyone. I am retiring today with full satisfaction”.
Earlier in the morning, Venkateswara Rao spoke to the media while joining duty and expressed his happiness on joining the duties again. ‘Today is my retirement day.. Even though I got the posting order today.. I am the only one who got the chance to retire in the evening. Whatever the reasons, I think all is well. I am indebted to my friends and well-wishers who have stood by me and given me courage. Thanks to family and friends”, he added.
