Hydra continued its aggressive action against encroachments and illegal constructions today, causing significant impact with multiple demolitions. Hydra Commissioner Ranganath provided further clarity on the operations, stating that only constructions currently under development and violating regulations are being demolished.
He clarified that structures within the FTL (Full Tank Level) and buffer zones are being targeted, but if any of these structures are residential, they are not being demolished. He assured the public of this approach and advised against purchasing properties or houses located within these zones.
Regarding the demolition of constructions in the Mallampet reservoir buffer zone, Ranganath explained that these buildings were still under construction, which is why they are being removed.
In response to the demolition of commercial constructions at the Sunnam reservoir, he mentioned that despite previous demolitions of sheds in the area, new structures were being erected, leading to their removal. He also announced that criminal cases have been filed against former MLA Katasani Bhoopal Reddy and builder Vijayalakshmi.
