Telangana State BJP President N Ramchander Rao accused Congress government of misleading BCs and farmers to derive political gain in coming local body elections. Addressing party workers meeting in Khammam, Rao alleged that state Agriculture minister Tummala Nageshwar Rao, who belongs to Khammam district, is spreading misinformation on farmers’ issues.
Condemning Nageshwar Rao’s allegation that he has lack of understanding, the BJP chief said the Modi government has been supplying neem-coated Urea to every village to prevent shortages. He once again challenged Nageshwar Rao quoting figures released from the Department of Fertilisers of central government on supply of Urea to Telangana and subsidy details.
The central government has supplied 12.2 lakh metric tons of Urea to Telangana whereas the state was required to supply 9.80 lakh metric tons. He questioned even after excess supply why a shortage still exists and said it was the responsibility of the state government to control fertiliser shops.
Launching a scathing attack on the state Congress government, he alleged that the Revanth Reddy government is misleading farmers with false information and attributing shortage of Urea to the central government.
He alleged that some Congress leaders have been involved in black marketing of Urea. He predicted that the people, who have rejected the BRS government are now ready to reject Congress for their anti-people policies and waiting to bless the committed BJP party.
Stating that BJP always stands with farmers and fights for justice, BCs Rao said BJP’s growing strength in Khammam would lead to party victory in upcoming local body and municipal elections including Khammam municipal chairman and mayor seats.
The party supremo asserted that BJP is rapidly gaining ground in the district which was traditionally considered a communist stronghold. But he hoped that Khammam is going to become a “ BJP fortress” in the coming days. He said communist cadre is showing interest in joining the BJP and the party would extend a warm welcome to them.
Rao urged every party leader and worker in Khammam to work diligently for the party’s strengthening and victory and present a win in khammam as a gift to Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Criticising the previous BRS government, Rao alleged that false cases were filed against BJP leaders in this district with political motives and tragically even one of our party workers was murdered. The state chief said “ I am visiting Khammam district with the aim of ensuring the BJP victory across the district and I observed significant turnout of party workers highlighting the party’s growing presence in the district.
