Chennai: Music composer Anirudh Ravichander, who has collaborated with Rajinikanth for the fifth time in the upcoming film Coolie, said the actor gives complete creative freedom in music composition. The film, directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, is scheduled for release on August 14.
In an interview, Anirudh said Rajinikanth does not interfere in the music-making process. “Whether it is his own film or another project, if he likes a song I compose, he sends me a message. He usually listens to the songs only during the shoot. Even so, I sent him the ‘Hukum’ track from Jailer in advance, and he really liked it,” he said.
Speaking about Coolie, Anirudh said director Lokesh Kanagaraj has strong trust in his work. He added that Lokesh’s filmmaking style resonates with him and his team, resulting in music that sounds distinct from his compositions for other directors.
