When the costliest film in the history of Indian cinema goes on floors, it is not uncommon to expect the entire media buzzing about it and the team to capitalize on the hype and draw attention instantly without spending any money on publicity. That is how any filmmaker would think of. But, SS Rajamouli seems to have got other ideas for Superstar Mahesh Babu’s globe-trotting action adventure ‘SSMB29’ which had its formal launch on Thursday in Hyderabad.
The launch of SSMB29, which is rumoured to be the first Indian film budgeted at a staggering 1000 Crores, was held without any media glare and prior announcement, which is quite a surprise for many. Though Rajamouli adopted the same strategy for RRR, he announced every detail about the project through an official press meet and also released the pictures from the launch event after its completion. After release, RRR brought him laurels like never before and raised the stakes on his future projects.
Instead of generating hype from the day of its launch, Rajamouli decided to keep everything under wraps. There has been radio silence from the team of SSMB29 regarding the launch and other details. What is more disappointing is that Rajamouli didn’t utter a single word about the film during the trailer launch event of Game Changer for which he was the Chief Guest.
Mahesh Babu fans are absolutely livid with the way Rajamouli disappointed them when they were anticipating earth-shattering start for the dream project. They have been waiting for nearly a decade for their favourite actor to work with SS Rajamouli. Finally, when it started happening, there is no sound from the team which is rather unusual and odd.
Despite all this negativity, Rajamouli knows when to talk about the film and how to promote it. He doesn’t any suggestions and even won’t even care about the reactions of Mahesh Babu’s fans. When times comes, he will create buzz like no other and influence the audiences all over the globe. So, it is too early to blame Rajamouli. Meanwhile, talk in the film industry is that Rajamouli will soon hold a press meet and officially announce the details to the media.
