Pushpa 2, the long-awaited film by Allu Arjun, is knocking at the door, but it has already created a controversy as the ticket price in Telangana has hiked to a sharp increase. Tickets for the premiere shows of the evening of December 4 have been sold at a premium price of ₹1200 while regular shows will be ₹531 at multiplexes and ₹354 at single screens.
The abrupt surge in ticket prices has outraged public opinion, and an aggrieved public has even approached the Telangana High Court to file a writ for challenge against the G.O. passed by the government accepting this hike. A hearing has been scheduled for tomorrow. There are expectations that the producers might win in court because technically speaking, producers have always been given the right to charge the price they want on their tickets.
With Telangana, the other will be Andhra Pradesh wherein the ticket price increase seems to be in line for hike. A new G.O. is to be brought out soon. Directed by Sukumar, Pushpa 2 stars Allu Arjun in the lead, Rashmika Mandanna plays the lady lead, and Fahadh Faasil plays the villainous antagonist. Produced under the banner Mythri Movie Makers, this film is already buzzing in the air and promising a huge box office result.
