Allu Arjun’s Pushpa 2: The Rule, directed by Sukumar, has achieved a remarkable milestone by completing 50 days in theatres while breaking multiple box office records. Despite new releases, the film continues to dominate across several theatres, captivating audiences nationwide.
The action-packed sequel has been especially well-received in North India, with viewers praising Allu Arjun’s stellar performance and Sukumar’s compelling direction. According to trade reports, the film has collected ₹1,230.55 crore (net) in India, with a notable ₹50 lakh earnings on Thursday from the Hindi belt alone, recording 8.05% occupancy.
On a global scale, Pushpa 2 has surpassed the lifetime collections of Baahubali 2, crossing ₹1,800 crore, setting a new record in Indian cinema history. The film’s team celebrated the achievement with a statement: “Pushpa 2: The Rule has completed 50 iconic days, rewriting records and setting new benchmarks at the box office. Enjoy the reloaded version now!”
The team also confirmed that the film grossed ₹1,831 crore worldwide in just 32 days. However, it narrowly missed surpassing the ₹2,000 crore benchmark set by Aamir Khan’s Dangal.
OTT enthusiasts are eagerly awaiting the digital release of Pushpa 2. The makers have announced that the film will not stream on any platform before completing 56 days in theatres, sparking widespread discussion on social media. Netflix, which acquired the streaming rights, is expected to release the film around January 31.
Released on December 5 with a runtime of 3 hours and 20 minutes, Pushpa 2 later received an extended version with 20 additional minutes, bringing the runtime to nearly 3 hours and 40 minutes. Rumors suggest the OTT version might feature even more added scenes, although an official announcement is awaited.
