‘Pushpa 2’ plans To spoil Sankranti Films party

In just a few more days, the Sankranti movie festival will kick off in Tollywood with three biggies slated for release. While Ram Charan’s Game Changer is the first film to test the luck at the box office on January 10th, Balakrishna’s Daaku Maharaj and Venkatesh’s Sankranti ki Vastunnam will hit the screens on 12th and 14th respectively.

Interestingly, the makers of Pushpa 2 announced that an additional 20 minutes of new content will be added to the existing runtime and the reloaded version will be screened from January 11th. This is an expected move and it seems like the makers of Pushpa 2 are looking to capitalise on the festival season as moviegoers throng theatres irrespective of the number of films available.

As Pushpa 2 emerged as a massive blockbuster, it will have surely find solid patronage if the new releases fail to impress moviegoers. Moreover, there are strong chances for Pushpa 2 to be the next alternative if only one two out of the three Sankranti films click at the box office. Either way, Pushpa 2 will be a threat to all them because of its solid run so far.

Despite having a lengthy runtime, Pushpa 2 secured unanimous reports and went on to gross record breaking collections in many territories. Though the stampede controversy hogged the limelight, the collections didn’t get impacted and the film turned out to be an epic blockbuster.

While everyone expected the theatrical run to conclude with the release of Sankranti films, the makers sprung a surprise with the sudden announcement about the addition of new scenes. Usually, Sankranti witnesses a flurry of releases every year. However, this year there are only three releases. So, Pushpa 2 has another chance to rekindle the box office prospects.

As per the production house, Pushpa 2 collected close to 1900 Crores. So, if the film continues its dream all over the country in the next two weeks, there are good chances for it to breach the 2000 Crore mark.
