Pulivendula YCP Municipal Councillors In Revolt Mood

A week after YCP cadre pelted stones on the house of former chief minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy in their native place Pulivendula protesting against non-payment of bills for municipal works during their party regime, Jagan, unable to withstand pressures from them, left for Bengaluru silently.

Now it became the fate of Jagan’s cousin brother and Kadapa MP YS Avinash Reddy to face music from them. As bills have not been sanctioned by the government for works worth Rs 250 crore undertaken under Pulivendula Area Development Corporation (PADA), the councilors are seen worried. They were disturbed as Jagan failed to give them any assurance in this regard.

To quell their unrest,  MP Avinash Reddy held a meeting with the municipal councilors in Pulivendula on Saturday. In this meeting also the councilors questioned him on the fate of those bills for which the MP has no answer to pacify them.

Many councilors have taken up work in a. Bills ranging from Rs. 2 to Rs. 7 crore  have to be sanctioned for each councillor. With the change of government, the concern is haunting them about getting that money. If they stop paying the money at the last minute, they worry about their fate.

Avinash Reddy tried to pacify them asking that everyone should be brave and wait till the government approves the bills in terms of records or else approach the court. It is learned that no one should stay away from the party, Jagananna will stand by them and be brave.

During the financial year 2019-20, the contractors have taken up various development works worth Rs 963 crore. Most of these are tasks that are of no use to the people, but they are assigned tasks at will to tame the leaders who are unhappy with the party.

In most of these there are allegations of making bills without doing the work. However, the YSRCP government, which had paid the bills of the big leaders earlier, kept the bills of the small leaders pending. They are more worried as the Telugu Desam are insisting that there should be an inquiry into the irregularities in the payment of PADA  bills.
