Producer Bunny Vas Highlights Challenges of Big-Budget Film Production Amid Strikes

Film producer Bunny Vas has shed light on the financial and logistical challenges of producing big-budget movies, citing worker strikes as a major hurdle. Speaking for the first time about the severe difficulties they faced, he shared insights during the promotional event for the upcoming film Kanya Kumari.

The film, starring Geeth Saini and Sri Charan Rachakonda and presented by Madhu Shalini, is scheduled for release on August 27. At the media meet, Vas recalled the struggles faced during the shooting of AA22xA6 (Allu Arjun-Atlee) in Mumbai, where strikes disrupted production.

“Strikes anywhere in the country impact the entire film industry. During our Mumbai shoot, we faced a similar situation. Our project involves crores of rupees in daily expenses, with many foreign technicians working on it. Contracts require payment regardless of whether shooting occurs, making it impossible to halt or continue production smoothly during strikes. It was a very challenging period,” Vas said.
