Priyanka Chopra on Launching Purple Pebble Pictures to Support New Talent

Bollywood star Priyanka Chopra, who rose to fame after winning the Miss World crown in 2000, has shared insights into why she launched her own production company, Purple Pebble Pictures, in 2015. Speaking in a recent interview, Chopra highlighted the challenges faced by outsiders entering the film industry without a cinematic background and expressed her desire to create opportunities for new talent.

“After winning Miss World, I started receiving offers and began acting in Hindi and Tamil films. Over the next two years, I realised how difficult it is for newcomers without industry connections to establish themselves. While established families dominate, outsiders have to work harder to succeed. I persevered and earned my place, and I wanted to ensure that others don’t face the same struggles. That’s why I started Purple Pebble Pictures—to encourage and support new talent without film backgrounds,” Priyanka explained.

Purple Pebble Pictures released its first Bhojpuri film in 2016, directed by Santosh Mishra, and has since produced several successful projects starring Priyanka. Currently, she is working on SSMB 29, directed by Rajamouli, featuring Mahesh Babu in the lead role, further solidifying her presence in the entertainment industry.
