Prithviraj Sukumaran Reveals Missing Directorial Debut for Mani Ratnam’s Raavan

Actor-turned-director Prithviraj Sukumaran, who gained immense recognition for his directorial debut Lucifer in 2019, recently revealed an interesting incident from his career. In a recent interview, Prithviraj disclosed that he was supposed to direct the crime thriller City of God, starring himself, his brother Indrajith Sukumaran, and Parvathy Thiruvothu. However, he had to let go of the opportunity after receiving an acting offer from veteran filmmaker Mani Ratnam for Raavan.

After missing his first directorial chance, Prithviraj helmed Lucifer, which became a massive hit. He not only directed but also played a crucial role in the film, with Mohanlal in the lead. The film’s sequel, L2: Empuraan, is set for a pan-India release on March 27, raising high expectations among audiences.

Mammootty Missed Bro Daddy

Between Lucifer and L2: Empuraan, Prithviraj directed Bro Daddy, which also featured Mohanlal in the lead. However, Prithviraj revealed that the script was initially narrated to Mammootty, who appreciated it but couldn’t take up the project due to prior commitments. Eventually, Mohanlal stepped in for the role.
