President Murmu Hails Growing Indian Economy And Government’s progress In passing Reforms

President Droupadi Murmu kicked off the first day of the Budget session in the Parliament on Friday, by addressing the joint sitting of the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha and hailing the growing Indian economy and government’s progress in passing reforms.

“The country has taken several historic steps to protect the country’s borders and ensure internal security.The govt has also taken steps towards self-reliance in the defence sector. From Make in India, we have moved to make for the world,” she said.She mentioned that the fight against Left Wing Extremism has reached the final stage, the number of affected districts has declined sharply to 38.

During her address, President Murmu emphasised the government’s success in lifting millions out of poverty through various welfare schemes. She also highlighted the Ayushman Bharat scheme, which has provided healthcare benefits to millions, ensuring affordable medical services for the underprivileged.

“Under the Ayushman Bharat Scheme, it has been decided to provide health insurance to six crore senior citizens aged 70 years and above…My government has placed special focus on the education of youth and creating new employment opportunities for them,” she added.

President Droupadi Murmu also lauded the government’s Artificial Intelligence (AI) mission, aimed at developing research and development. She highlighted the government’s vision to transform India into a global innovation powerhouse, with a strong focus on cutting-edge technologies.

President  Murmu hiling progress in railways says,” Today, several Vande Bharat, Amrit Bharat and Namo Bharat trains are being operated. In the last six months, 17 new Vande Bharat trains and one Namo train have been introduced”.

She also mentioned that the government is working rapidly in the direction of One Nation, One Election and Waqf (Amendment) Bill. In the last one decade, my government has given new energy to the journey of ‘Viksit Bharat. “The country’s aviation sector is progressing rapidly with the airline companies placing orders of 1700 new aircraft,” she added. 

The President said that today India is making its presence felt as a major global player in the field of digital technology. “Developed nations of the world are also impressed with the success of India’s UPI transactions system…My Government has used digital technology as a tool for social justice and equality,” she said.

“My government is continuously working towards ensuring efficiency in cyber security. Digital fraud, cybercrime and DeepFake are serious challenges to social, financial and national security,” she added.
