Prabhas Not Showing Interest In second parts

Though it was Prabhas who started the trend of franchise films in Tollywood with Baahubali that released in two parts and emerged as a blockbuster series, the actor seems to be no longer interested in doing stories that need more than one part to satisfy the moviegoers.

After Baahubali 2, Prabhas signed multiple films like Salaar and Kalki 2898AD which later turned out to be two-part dramas. Though the first parts of both these films saw a soaring success at the box office, the second parts are taking unusual time to go on floors.

While Salaar 2 seems to be put on the back burner as director Prashanth Neel shifted his focus towards NTR’s project, Kalki 2 also appears to meet the same fate. For unknown reasons, Prabhas is not much interested to go ahead with the second part of both these films. He is currently occupied with films like The Raja Saab and Hanu Raghavapudi’s Fauji. He also has Sandeep Reddy Vanga’s Spirit in the horizon.

There is a talk in the industry circles that Prabhas has initially committed only to work on a single part for both Salaar and Kalki, but didn’t expect that the directors would come up with the idea of a second part midway. Hence, he  is not showing much keenness on doing the follow-up parts.

Whether he will allot dates for Salaar 2 and Kalki 2 cannot be ascertained at this point of time, but the way he has been preferring other projects over these sequels clears suggests that he is not appreciating the two-part formula.
