A case has been registered at YKota Police Station against Palamaneru YCP MLA Venkate Gowda for violation of election code. While the election code is in force, the Election Commission has become serious about providing students, who are appearing for the exams, with pads with photos of MLAs.
The poll observers observed the same issue in several mandals of Palamaner constituency on Monday and gave a report to Palamaner RDO. The Election Commission responded to the reports in the media and ordered action.
To this extent, a case has been registered against Palamaneru YCP MLA as crime number 75 / 2024 at YKota Police Station on the complaint of Palamaneru Assembly Election Returning Officer, RDO Manoj Reddy.
On Tuesday too, YCP leaders clashed with the police, deputy tahsildar and other revenue officials insisting to allow pads with pictures of MLA at the examination center of the YKota Girls’ Boys High School, although probationary orders are in force under section 144.
The YCP cadres misbehaved with the officials causing inconvenience to the students in front of the examination center. As the Election Commission is serious about this matter, a special wireless conference was held with the MEOs and HMs of Palamaneru constituency.
It has become a topic of discussion as the police was cool against trouble making YCP cadres and even didn’t try to warn them when they were rushing into the examination center.
