The political weather in Pithapuram is once again heating up, with top leader Varma expressing deep displeasure over developments taking place in the area. Having taken a backseat to make way for Deputy CM Pawan Kalyan to contest from the constituency, Varma is said to be feeling left out, as he has not been given any official role or recognition so far by the party leadership.
Tensions allegedly increased further after the comments made by Nagababu during the latest Jana Sena plenary. Sources indicate Varma was hurt by those comments, and this led to his conspicuous absence during Nagababu’s latest visit to Pithapuram. Today, Varma’s public declarations have fueled new political controversy, both within the alliance and among local voters.
In a sharp critique, Varma lashed out at the unchecked rise of illegal sand mining in the constituency. He accused local police and revenue officials of willful negligence, stating, “When a farmer digs a little soil, he’s punished. But when hundreds of trucks smuggle sand daily, there’s no action. Are the authorities blind or complicit?”
Varma highlighted that Pawan Kalyan himself had earlier cautioned against illegal sand mining and said he had made multiple complaints over the past 20 days, which received no response. He claimed nearly 200 truckloads of sand are being illegally transported each day, raising concerns over the administration’s silence.
Though he did not name individuals directly, Varma’s comments appeared to take aim at Dorababu, a former YSRCP MLA who joined Jana Sena before the elections. Allegations are surfacing that Dorababu’s supporters are exploiting the party’s name to run illegal sand operations—accusations that have also been echoed by local TDP leaders.
Adding to the tension, Varma expressed displeasure over the influence wielded by newcomers like Dorababu, who, he claims, are being given equal say across four mandals in the constituency. This, he feels, undermines the contributions of senior leaders and loyal party workers.
Varma’s explosive statements have exposed simmering unrest within the Jana Sena-TDP alliance in Pithapuram. His candid remarks not only bring the internal dynamics of the party into public focus but also raise pressing questions about how Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan will address the internal friction and serious allegations of corruption under his watch.
