The police are collecting strong evidence against YSRCP leader and former MLA Vallabhaneni Vamsi in the kidnapping and assault case. All the technical evidence is being taken thoroughly. CCTV footage has already been taken from the gated community where Vamsi lives in Rayadurgam, Hyderabad. Several key pieces of evidence have been found in this.
The complaint in this case Satya Vardhan was taken to Visakhapatnam and first kept in the flat belonging to Chebrolu Srinu. Later, he was shifted to a hotel. CCTV footage of Vamsi’s followers taking Satya Vardhan away was recorded in both these places. These were seized by a special team that went from Vijayawada.
The police have filed a petition in the SC and ST court to give Vamsi, the main accused who was arrested and remanded in this case, to their custody for 10 days. The petition explained that many things still need to be uncovered in the case and many of the accused have not been found. However, the petition was withdrawn, corrected and re-filed after the magistrate said that there were technical errors.
Later, the magistrate ordered that notices be issued to both parties. The case was transferred from the Fourth ACJM Court to the SC and ST Special Court on Monday. Meanwhile, Vamsi’s lawyers filed a bail petition in the SC and ST Court on Monday. In the petition, Vamsi stated that the government had filed a case and arrested him for political and personal reasons, saying that he did not need to threaten anyone.
Vamsi filed another petition to be allowed home food instead of jail food due to health reasons and to be provided with bed facilities due to back pain. This is likely to come up for hearing on Tuesday.
On the other hand, the Patamata police recorded the statement of the victim Satya Vardhan before Magistrate Appa Rao in the court of the Second Additional Junior Civil Judge. During the recording of his statement, everyone was sent out of the courtroom. The police brought him to the court without the media’s knowledge and sent him back in secret.
