Police Registered A case Against `Sakshi’ Editor For Defaming writings on AP DGP

The Tadepalli police have registered a case against the editor of Sakshi daily newspaper for defaming the AP DGP. The police have also registered a case against the editor of the newspaper, the Crime Bureau Chief and other staff. The AP Police Officers Association President Janakula Srinivasa Rao approached the Tadepalli police after he defamed AP DGP Harish Kumar Gupta and made allegations of corruption targeting him.

It may be recalled YSRCP chief YS Jaganmohan Reddy was confident that he will return to power for the second consecutive term in the 2024 assembly elections. In that order, the party chief YS Jagan, who went to the elections with a target of `Why Not 175’, but he was given only 11 seats. With this, the alliance government led by Chandrababu Naidu came to an end.

However, the YSRCP did not even get opposition status. With that, YS Jaganmohan Reddy also wrote a letter to the Assembly Speaker asking for opposition status and the Speaker made it clear to YS Jagan through his letter that he would not get that status if he did not have sufficient numbers in the Assembly. Then, he approached the AP High Court to grant him opposition status.

Meanwhile, YS Jagan categorically said that he would not step foot in the Assembly until he got this status. In this context, along with YS Jagan, 10 other MLAs who won on behalf of that party also skipped the Assembly sessions. On the other hand, since the alliance government took power, YCP-affiliated media outlets have been publishing news reports in their own style about when the promises made in the elections will be implemented.

They are also publishing news that the government is responsible for any small incident that occurs anywhere in the state. The news is being allegedly cooked up saying that there is a problem of law and order. Even if it has nothing to do with the government, the news is being published by attaching issues to the parties in the alliance and their party leaders.

At such a time, the incidents of  complaining to the police several times against YCP media organizations are numerous. Similarly, when a news story was written targeting the AP DGP, the AP Police Officers Association immediately responded.
