Even a big uproar against police officers of Macherla for their proximity with YCP MLA Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy created havoc during polling and later, police officers are feared even to receive complaints against Pinnelli brothers.
Nomula Manikya Rao, his lawyer Lakshmana Rao and two leaders waited at the police station for almost three hours. SI Kranti Kiran told the TDP leaders that there is pressure on them and they should file the complaint in Palnadu district.
Manikya Rao said that he came to Mangalagiri PS because he was not in a condition to go to Macherla fearing attacks. Advocate Lakshmana Rao said that he will file a complaint with the State DGP about the behavior of the Police Officer.
After they represented the issue to the DGP Harish Kumar Gupta, on the directions of the DGP Mangalagiri Rural police registered a zero FIR. Manikya Rao’s complaint was taken by Mangalagiri Rural Police.
On the polling day, Manikya Rao and his family members were attacked by Pinnelli brothers. Pinnelli’s followers attacked Manikya Rao as TDP polling agent and he was preventing YCP rigging in a polling booth. On the other hand, Manikya Rao was furious with MLA Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy and his brother Venkatrami Reddy.
Manikya Rao alleged that MLA Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy’s brother Venkatrami Reddy abused him. He said that Pinnelli’s followers attacked him in the polling centre. Manikya Rao claimed that Pinnelli Venkatarami Reddy attacked his family as well as he dared to sit as a TDP agent.
He said that Pinnelli’s followers kicked his elder son on his stomach and he was sitting as a polling agent for TDP. Manikya Rao expressed his grief that Venkatrami Reddy held his legs and did not let go of his wife. He was asked why he is so biased against his family.
Pinnelli said that the officers did not speak up because they were afraid of Venkatrami Reddy and the police did not respond even though they were attacking him. He said that they tried to attack him while the DSP was present.
He criticized North Korean President Kim as much better than the Pinnelli brothers who even threatened DSP to leave. Manikya Rao expressed his anguish that he had done something wrong to kill him and that his mistake was to stop the rigging being done by the YSRCP.
