Amaravati: Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu released a white paper on the Polavaram project today, where he sharply criticized the previous YSRCP government. In response, YSRCP leader and former irrigation minister Ambati Rambabu accused Chandrababu of destroying the Polavaram project.
“Why did the state government take up the Polavaram project when it is a national project?” Ambati Rambabu questioned, suggesting that the Chandrababu government undertook the project due to its significant financial scale. He alleged that the project was taken up to facilitate the collection of commissions. Ambati Rambabu further claimed that Prime Minister Narendra Modi had indicated that Chandrababu treated the Polavaram project as a personal ATM.
“Polavaram is YSR’s project. YSR initiated it after securing all necessary permissions, and we worked diligently because it was YSR’s dream,” Ambati Rambabu stated. He accused Chandrababu of making critical mistakes that have become a curse for the project. He asserted that no mistakes were made during the YSRCP regime and that work continued even during the COVID-19 crisis.
“We have studied the project thoroughly and can prove that the issues with Polavaram are due to the mistakes made by Chandrababu,” said Ambati Rambabu. “Experts can explain why the diaphragm wall was washed away, but they are trying to blame Jagan.
