PM Modi’s Surprise Offer To Pawar, Uddhav To Join NDA

In a surprising move, Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday made an offer to two political stalwarts of Maharashtra Sharad Pawar and Uddhav Thackeray, who are threatening BJP-led NDA’s political dominance in the state,  in a mocking tone offered them to join the BJP-led NDA.

Moreover, he predicted that “duplicate NCP and Shiv Sena” have made up their minds to merge with the Congress after the June 4 Lok Sabha election results. But, he advised them instead to join Ajit Pawar and Eknath Shinde, who had colluded with BJP for ministerial berths defecting from their own parties.

Referring to Sharad Pawar’s aggressive campaign to get his daughter to win, Modi satirically said a big leader here who is active for 40-50 years is worried after polling in Baramati (Lok Sabha seat). He said that after June 4, smaller parties, in order to survive, will merge with the Congress, Modi said.

This means the ‘nakli NCP’ and ‘nakli Shiv Sena’ have made up their minds to merge with the Congress, Modi said, addressing an election rally in Nandurbar district of north Maharashtra.

“But instead of dying by merging with the Congress, come to Ajit Pawar and Eknath Shinde,” Modi said. Modi also accused the Congress of conspiring to end Hindu aastha” (faith). The guru of Congress’ shehzada has told the US that Ram temple and Ram Navmi festivities are against the idea of India, he added.

In an apparent reference to Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut’s alleged comment about burying him in Maharashtra just like Mughal emperor Aurangzeb, Modi said, those from the duplicate Sena are speaking of burying him alive.

PM Modi said that the Opposition, including Congress, “cannot bury me while I am alive or even after my demise”. He said that he has the blessing of ‘matri-shakti’ which will shield him against abuses. Hitting back strongly at the Opposition party over the remarks, PM Modi said that they are passing such remarks “keeping appeasement in mind”.
