PM Modi silent on center’s Assistance To Amaravati, Chandrababu, Pawan Also calm

Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who proudly resumed the construction of Amaravati, the capital of Andhra Pradesh, on Friday, did not say how much financial assistance will be provided by the central government for the construction of the capital. Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan and the leaders of the state’s alliance also did not specifically ask the Prime Minister for funds and legality for the capital.

Modi did promise to provide his full support to Amaravati. He said that he will join his shoulders in the construction of the capital and the development of Andhra Pradesh and will be committed to it. But, he did not specify the nature of support he is ready to extend. He did not announce any new project for the state.

Moreover, when Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu recently announced in the presence of farmers who had given land to AP that Amaravati would be declared as the capital and given legality in Parliament, the Prime Minister did not respond to that also. Even CM Chandrababu mentioned this issue infront of the Prime Minister.

Modi said that he himself laid the foundation stone for Amaravati as the people’s capital in 2015 and that the central government has helped a lot in the construction of the capital in these ten years. But did not elaborate. He said that after Chandrababu became the CM again, the capital work has accelerated and that the Center will cooperate in every way.

Prime Minister Modi, who cultivated the sentiment by bringing water from the Yamuna river and a handful of soil from the Parliament premises to Chembu during the foundation stone laying ceremony of Amaravati in 2015, is now trying to inspire local sentiment.

He started his speech in Telugu by saying, ‘It is a pleasure to meet you all’… Andhra Pradesh is a holy land. Amaravati is a place of Indian heritage, tradition and culture. I bow to the feet of Veerabhadra, Amaralingeswara Swamy, and Tirupati Venkateswara Swamy. If the Naidupeta- Renigunta highway is completed, devotees will be able to visit Tirumala Venkateswara Swamy soon”.

He also referred to rocket testing facilities in the state mentioning that Telugu Seema has always been a center for space tests through the establishment of a SHAR center. “Chandrababu invited me to participate in the International Yoga Day in Visakhapatnam on June 21. I will definitely come. The country and the world should be made to look towards yoga, towards AP, which is hosting a yoga event. Yoga should be promoted from village to village…” Modi suggested. He repeatedly chanted Vande Mataram and Bharat Mata Ki Jai to the audience.
