PM Modi Meets President Murmu, Briefs Her About Operation Sindoor

Prime Minister Narendra Modi met with President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan to provide an update on the Indian armed forces’ precision strikes against terrorist hideouts in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK).

“Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi called on President Droupadi Murmu at Rashtrapati Bhavan and briefed her about Operation Sindoor,” the president’s office said in a post on X and shared pictures of the meeting.

As per sources, during the Cabinet meeting, Prime Minister Narendra Modi briefed his Cabinet colleagues about the Operation Sindoor carried out against Pakistan. The Indian Army executed the operation flawlessly as per the planned preparations. All Cabinet ministers expressed their confidence in PM Modi’s leadership and said that the entire nation stands with him.

Amid the heightened tensions between Pakistan and India, Prime Minister Modi has postponed his upcoming visit to three countries, according to sources. His visit was scheduled for Croatia, Norway, and the Netherlands, with his itinerary including participation in the Nordic Summit in Norway from May 13 to 17.

Meanwhile, the Union Home Minister Amit Shah held an urgent video conference with CMs, DGPs and chief secretaries of states bordering Pakistan, Nepal — Punjab, Rajasthan, Gujarat, Uttarakhand, UP, Bihar, Sikkim and West Bengal to attend the meet.

Hours after India struck nine terror camps in Pakistan and Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK ), Amit Shah directed chiefs of all paramilitary forces to call back their personnel who are on leave.

Congress president Mallikarjun Kharge said that he and LoP Rahul Gandhi will attend the all-party meeting to be held tomorrow following today’s Operation Sindoor. “This is a matter of the country. We have been saying from the beginning, we have to be united. Let them call any meeting in the interest of the nation, our people will attend it and present their views,” he said.

Terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammed’s chief Masood Azhar has said 10 of his family members and four close associates were killed in a strike by the Indian armed forces under ‘Operation Sindoor’.In a statement, Masood Azhar said the Indian strike on Bahawalpur’s Markaz Subhan Allah, the headquarters of the JeM terror outfit, resulted in the deaths of 10 members of his family and four close associates. Among those killed, Azhar said, were his elder sister and her husband, his nephew and his wife, and a niece.

Amidst heightened India-Pakistan tensions following Operation Sindhu, more than 200 flights have been cancelled, and at least 18 airports, including Srinagar, have been temporarily shut for operations.  Air India, IndiGo, SpiceJet, Air India Express, Akasa Air, and a few foreign airlines have cancelled their services to and from various airports.
