PM Modi called Revanth Reddy, Assure Assistance In SLBC Tunnel collapse Mishap

Prime Minister Narendra Modi called Telangana Chief Minister Revanth Reddy on Saturday evening and inquired about the accident that occurred in the SLBC tunnel near Domalapenta in Nagarkurnool district. CM Revanth Reddy explained the complete details of the incident to Prime Minister Modi.

CM Revanth told Prime Minister Modi that eight workers were trapped in the tunnel and necessary rescue measures were taken to save them. CM Revanth explained to Prime Minister Modi that Ministers Uttam Kumar Reddy and Jupalli Krishna Rao are closely monitoring the rescue measures.

Prime Minister Modi told the CM that NDRF teams will be sent immediately for rescue measures and assured that the Central Government is ready to provide full support. 3 NDRF teams have reached the spot to rescue those trapped in the tunnel. 2 from Vijayawada and one NDRF team from Hyderabad have entered the field.

Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy said that the Indian Army will also arrive at night. He said that the information about 8 people who survived inside is not known yet and revealed that efforts are being made to rescue the victims with the help of key experts in the country in tunnel accidents.

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy held a review with ministers and top officials on the accident in the SLBC tunnel. Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy, Jupally Krishna Rao, Irrigation Department Advisor Adityanath Das, CM Advisor Vem Narender Reddy and others participated in this review.

Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy explained the complete details of the accident and the current situation to the Chief Minister. The CM advised them to speed up the rescue operations to save the eight workers trapped in the tunnel. He also inquired about the condition of the injured. He said that the injured should be provided better medical assistance and the government should assure the families of the victims. He advised officials from all departments to be vigilant in undertaking rescue operations.

“The TBM operator sensed the danger in advance. The 42 people behind the tunnel boring machine were sent out. 8 people are trapped inside the tunnel. Residents of UP and Jharkhand are trapped in the tunnel. There are two engineers, two mission operators and four laborers. We are working hard to rescue 8 people alive. Since it is 14 kilometers away, the rescue operations have become difficult. We will bring in expert NDRF personnel,” explained Minister Uttam Kumar Reddy.
