Pithapuram: No Clarity On Jagan’s Tour, Pawan Gears Up For The Last Punch

Out of the 175 assembly constituencies, Pithapuram in East Godavari district is one of the most closely followed segments during the poll season in Andhra Pradesh, as Janasena supremo Pawan Kalyan is vying intensely for his maiden electoral victory. Ever since Pawan announced his candidature on behalf of the NDA alliance for the upcoming assembly elections, Pithapuram has been the cynosure of political circles all over the state. The ruling party has fielded Vanga Geetha, the sitting MP of Kakinada, to counter Pawan Kalyan’s caste equations.

While the ground reports suggest that Pawan Kalyan is likely to win the Pithapuram seat with a decisive mandate, the YSRCP is using all its arrows in the quiver to frustrate his chances and demoralize his political career. Chief Minister and YSRCP president Jagan Mohan Reddy was supposed to tour Pithapuram on the last day of the election campaign, i.e., May 10th. Pawan Kalyan also planned to embark on a massive road show on the same day in Pithapuram.

YS Jagan has toured different constituencies in the last month under the motto ‘Siddham’. Surprisingly, he stopped public meetings in the last few days and confined himself to Tadepalli. As per reliable reports, Jagan’s Pithapuram tour has also been cancelled due to unknown reasons. Meanwhile, the returning officer has permitted Pawan Kalyan to go ahead with his roadshow on the same day. While the YSRCP cadre is awaiting an official announcement about this development, Pawan Kalyan’s supporters are gearing up to make this roadshow a big hit.

Massive crowds thronged Pawan Kalyan’s nomination last month and set the tone for a huge victory in the upcoming polls. Now, the final roadshow on May 10th is likely to be the last punch from the Janasena president. It is going to be a big boost for the entire cadre, as a huge gathering is expected for this final campaign.
