Petitioner on Medigadda Barrage collapse Ramalinga Murthy Murdered

Social activist Rajalinga Murthy, who was petitioner in the country on the collapse of Medigadda barrage, which was part of the Kaleshwaram project that was built during the previous BRS government, was brutally murdered on Wednesday.

Rajalinga Murthy from Bhupalapally has filed a case in the High Court, alleging that the BRS government was responsible for the collapse of the barrage. While the case is currently pending in the High Court on his petition, he was brutally murdered. He was brutally murdered by unknown assailants. He was hacked to death with knives and axes at 7.15 pm on Wednesday.

Rajalinga Murthy had gone to his hometown Pakkirugadda, a suburb of Jangedu, on Wednesday for an auspicious event held at the house of his brother. After the ceremony, he was returning to Bhupalapally on a bike. While he was crossing the road opposite the Telangana Coal Mine Workers’ Union, four unidentified men wearing monkey caps surrounded him.

Suddenly, they attacked him with knives and axes. Rajalingam was seriously injured in the attack. A local who noticed him took him to a government hospital, but the doctors declared him dead. Meanwhile, Rajalinga Murthy had previously worked in the BRS party.

His wife Nagavelli Sarala won as a councilor from Ward 15 in Bhupalpally on behalf of BRS. A few months later, Nagavelli Sarala was suspended from the BRS party. Rajalinga Murthy had been resolving land issues in the Bhupalpally area through a prominent lawyer from Warangal for the past two decades. He was also an RTI activist.

In the wake of Rajalinga Murthy’s petition on the Medigadda Barrage collapse, the Bhupalpally District Court has issued notices to former Chief Minister KCR, former ministers Harish Rao, then Irrigation Secretary Rajath Kumar, then CMO Secretary Smita Sabharwal, senior engineering officials Hariram and Sridhar, Megha Construction Company head Megha Krishna Reddy, and L&T companies to provide an explanation.

Cases have also been registered against Rajalinga Murthy in several police stations in connection with ghost stories. He has also filed a complaint against Singareni in the National Green Tribunal, alleging that the environment is being damaged nearby due to the opencast mining in Singareni.

The police suspect that the previous land disputes may have been the reason for the murder. A case has been registered and an investigation has been launched.
