Saying that Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu is trying to take water from Polavaram to Banakacherla, Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav said that if water reaches Banakacherla, every acre in Rayalaseema will get water. He said that Polavaram is not a project related to a district, but this is a great boon for every farmer in the state.
He said that while building palaces was Jagan’s habit, building projects was TDP’s attitude. He reminded that significant changes have taken place in Rayalaseema after Pattiseema. He said that Chandrababu says every day to stand by the farmers and that they are working to bring light into their lives. He accused that the YSRCP government has not cared about the displaced people of Polavaram, but only the TDP government has been coming to their rescue earlier and now also.
The Finance Minister said that they know the promises they made and YS Jagan need not remind them. He lamented that the YCP had destroyed the state financially and left. He said that after coming, they are implementing 74 central schemes again, and that the YSRCP government is responsible for our state having a debt that no other state has.
He demanded that former chief minister Jaganmohan Reddy should tell who stopped the Polavaram work in the last five years? He revealed that nearly a Rs 1,000 crore were released to 9,000 Polavaram displaced people on the instructions of the CM Chandrababu despite their financial difficulties. He said that many other priorities were set aside and compensation was paid to the Polavaram displaced people.
He questioned whether Jagan had done even 5 percent of what they had done for Polavaram during the last five years? Payyavula Keshav was furious that the opposition party is spreading allegations stating pensions will be removed in the name of the unqualified.
He questioned whether they had cared about roads in the past five years? He advised Jagan to know that they were also trying to complete Northern Andhra projects and that people were not in a position to believe Jagan’s words.
