Payyavula Keshav presented Rs 2.94 crore Budget In The AP Assembly

Finance Minister Payyavula Keshav presented the state budget (AP Budget 2024) in the Legislative Assembly on Monday. The annual budget for the financial year 2024-2025 was brought before the House with Rs. 2.94 lakh crore. The revenue expenditure estimate in the budget was Rs. 2.34 lakh crore and the capital expenditure estimate was Rs. 32,712 crore.

Payyavula Keshav said in his budget speech that a large amount of funds is being allocated for various key sectors. The fiscal deficit is Rs. 68,742.65 crore. The revenue deficit of the state’s gross domestic product is 4.19 percent and the fiscal deficit is 2.12 percent.

Meanwhile, Revenue expenditure in the financial year 2023-24 is Rs. 2,12,450 crore while capital expenditure was Rs. 23,330 crore. The revenue deficit in 2023-24 was Rs. 38,682 crore.  The Finance Minister revealed that scholarships are being deposited directly into the college accounts of the students and fee dues will be paid to the colleges in phases.

Department-wise allocations

1. Rs. 687 crore has been allocated to the Environment, Forest and Science and Technology Department.

2. Rs. 8,495 crore has been allocated to the Police Department to train 3172 units in the Anti-Narcotics Task Force.

3. Rs. 62 crore has been allocated for the modernization of the police force. Establishment of 13 fast track courts.

4. Allocation of Rs. 322 crore to the Tourism and Culture Department

5.  Allocation of Rs. 9,554 crore to the Roads and Buildings Department

6. Mobilization of Rs. 15 thousand crore funds with the help of the Center for the creation of infrastructure in the capital

7. Allocation of Rs. 8207 crore to the Energy Department

8. Allocation of Rs. 3127 crore to the Industries Department

9. Allocation of Rs. 16,705 crore to the Water Resources Department

10. Allocation of Rs. 4102 crore to the housing sector

11. Allocation of Rs. 11,490 crore to the Municipal Administration and Urban Development Department.

12. Allocation of Rs. 16,739 crore to the Panchayati Raj Rural Development Department.

13. Rs. 18,421 crores have been allocated for the Medical and Health Department.

14. Rs. 2,326 crores have been allocated for the Higher Education Department

15. Rs. 29,909 crores have been allocated for the School Education Department

16. Rs. 1215 crores have been allocated for Skill Development

17. Rs. 4,285 crores have been allocated for the Women and Child Welfare Department

18. Rs. 18,497 crores have been allocated for the welfare of Scheduled Castes, Rs. 7557 crores for the Scheduled Tribes, Rs. 39,007 crores for the welfare of BCs, and Rs. 4376 crores for the welfare of minority communities.

19. Rs. 11,855 crores have been allocated for the agriculture and allied sectors.
