Power Star Pawan Kalyan is all set to take over the silver screen in 2025 with two much-awaited releases — Hari Hara Veera Mallu and OG. While Hari Hara Veera Mallu is all set to start its run with paid premieres soon, OG will have a huge global release on September 25.
Curiously, even though Veera Mallu has been in the making for a longer time, it’s OG that has triggered fervent enthusiasm and debate among the followers. In answer to increasing interest, Pawan Kalyan opened up in a recent interview about the contrast in response between the two films — after initial remarks from producer A.M. Rathnam and director Jyothi Krishna.
When questioned why OG has evoked more interest than his other ventures such as Hari Hara Veera Mallu and Ustaad Bhagat Singh, Pawan provided a reflective response. According to him, every film has its own individual flavor and charm. “Not every movie will generate the same kind of buzz — it depends on the story, the style, and how it connects with audiences,” he explained.
Recalling shifting audience preferences, Pawan said, “There was a point when the audience used to look up to the heroes as ideal, god-like characters. But today, people are more interested in character-driven, layered characters with grey.
He feels that the hard-hitting violence, dark themes, and multi-layered characters depicted in the OG promo perhaps resonated deeper with the audience. But he was quick to dispel fears that Hari Hara Veera Mallu too has many intense moments and will leave its own impact when released.
