In what could be a great display of magnanimity, Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan announced 4 Crores charity to 400 Gram Panchayats which are affected due to the ongoing floods in Vijayawada. This is in addition to his two crores donations that he announced yesterday to both the Telugu states.
While YSR Congress party supporters and leaders are busy criticising him for not taking part in the rescue operations in Vijayawada and staying in exile from the last few days, Pawan Kalyan done a detailed assessment of the damage done by the floods through his Panchayat Raj department and came to an opinion that nearly 386 gram panchayats were affected badly.
As a Panchayat Raj Minister, Pawan Kalyan reviewed the situation at the ground level through his officials and felt that his 1 Crore donation is not sufficient for those villages which were impacted due to floods. So, he decided to donate 1 lakh each to nearly 400 villages for rescue operations. He stated that he will sort out all modalities and ensure that the amounts will be used for sanitation and other works in these affected areas.
He came up with a comprehensive report on the loss caused by these unprecedented inundation. Pawan stated that 29 people were dead and 2 went missing due to the floods. He criticised YSR Congress party supporters and leaders to stop making tall claims and come forward to offer financial support during the challenging times.
Pawan’s good Samaritan work is indeed very appreciable and deserving because he has offered support directly to villages which are badly impacted by these floods.
