Jana Sena chief Pawan Kalyan, strongly condemning the `politics of violence’ spread by the ruling YSRCP government in the state, lamented that it has turned the Konaseema, known for its greenery, into a conflict zone.
Participating in the election campaign along with TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday in Konaseema, he assured that TDP, Jana Sena and BJP will work together to restore peace by spreading love in the environment of strife.
He said that this is a very pleasant and peaceful area in the entire state with 2.5 lakh hectares of coconut plantation, but unfortunately it was turned into a place of strife by the YCP leaders.
Expressing concern over the miserable conditions that are forcing Konaseema farmers to declare a ‘crop holiday’, he said that they will do whatever is needed to restore confidence among them. He alleged that chief minister Y S Jaganmohan Reddy failed to execute whatever promises he made to people in this region and alleged not showing any interest for the development of this beautiful region.
He recalled that CM Jagan announced to provide Rs 40 crore for Appanapalli Lift Irrigation scheme, that provide irrigation to 4,000 acres, but not a single penny was given. Likewise, he said that Vedurupidem causeway construction is also not done.
He deplored that these places are submerging frequently in floods and Jagan promised to provide Rs 25 crore to take up corrective measures, but not a single work is taken up.
Jana Sena chief said that last year on July 6, when CM Jagan visited, Konaseema announced to spend Rs 30 crore for Lanka villages, but nothing was done. The promise of strengthening embankments with Rs 200 crore to protect coastal areas from submersion during Godavari floods, also not taken up till now, he added.
