Gudem Mahipal Reddy, the BRS MLA from Patancheru in Sangareddy district, appeared before the Enforcement Directorate (ED) on Tuesday for questioning. Reddy was questioned by ED officials at their office in Basheerbagh and left after recording his statement.
Recently, the ED conducted searches at the residences of Mahipal Reddy, his brother Gudem Madhusudhan Reddy, and their relatives. These searches lasted for a total of two days. During these searches, officials discovered that Rs 342 crore had been siphoned off from the mining department. The ED has registered a case against Mahipal Reddy for irregularities in mining and has issued notices to deposit the siphoned money into the government treasury.
Additionally, cases have been registered against Gudem Madhusudhan Reddy after the revenue and mining departments lodged complaints with the police, accusing him of illegal mining on unleased land.
