Economist and Nobel laureate in economics Prof. Abhijit Banerjee has appreciated Chief Minister Revanth Reddy for moving forward with a great vision for the development of Telangana. In this meeting held at the Integrated Command Control Center, issues such as the state’s economic situation and the steps taken by the government were discussed.
IT and Industries Minister Duddilla Sridhar Babu and other top officials participated in this meeting. In this meeting, as part of the efforts being made by the state government to achieve its goals, Chief Minister Banerjee was invited to participate in the Telangana Rising Advisory Council consisting of experts from various fields.
Banerjee agreed to participate in the Telangana Rising Advisory Council as an advisor at the invitation of the CM. Discussing the issue of creating large-scale jobs and employment opportunities in the state, Professor Banerjee opined that there is a need to create short-term courses specializing in traditional skills, modern design, marketing, and the use of social media technology.
He said that this will help in transforming traditional artisans into modern businessmen. He said that crafts, arts and creativity should be included as part of the Future City envisioned by the Telangana government.
Appointing transgenders in the police and municipal departments, as well as choosing a plan to develop the Hyderabad core urban area inside the Outer Ring Road as a service sector, and setting up a skill university and a sports university, Abhijit Banerjee lauded the Telangana government’s plans.
The Chief Minister explained the vision of Hyderabad, which has a history of centuries, and the appreciation worldwide for the products manufactured here. He said that there is a need to promote the uniqueness of Telangana and the favorable environment here in the world.
The revolutionary steps being taken by the government towards women’s self-help groups, farmer empowerment, job opportunities for youth and skill development in the state were mentioned. Chief Secretary to the Government K. Ramakrishna Rao, Principal Secretary to the Finance Department Sandeep Kumar Sultania, Special Secretary to the CM Ajith Reddy and Hyderabad Police Commissioner CV Anand were also present.
