No MLA From Greater Hyderabad Present At Revanth Reddy’s Review On Ganesh Festival

Chief Minister Revanth Reddy, who failed to get elected a single Congress MLA in the last Assembly elections from Greater Hyderabad area, is also failing to cultivate rapport with those MLAs. Though some BRS MLAs joined Congress, they are maintaining distance with him. This was reflected at the review meeting conducted by him on Ganesh festival arrangements, on Thursday.

It is noteworthy that Danam Nagender, Arekapudi Gandhi and Prakash Goud, have joined the Congress. But surprisingly they were not invited to the meeting. However, the Chief Minister directed the police to take the opinions of the four Lok Sabha members and MLAs within the city limits regarding the organization of the festival.

Doubts are being expressed that the gap between the CM and the city MLAs has increased. However, he is maintaining a brave face and asked festival committees, mandapa managers and officials to organize Ganesh Utsavs so that Hyderabad has been known for religious harmony and tranquility since the beginning.

He reviewed the management of Ganesh festivals and Milad un Nabi in his secretariat. He  suggested making solid arrangements for both the festivals.  Revanth Reddy said that prior permission should be obtained by all Mandapas from the police, so as to make necessary arrangements.

Revanth Reddy responded positively to the appeal of Bhagyanagar Ganesh Utsav Samiti to provide free electricity to mandapams. He asked them to apply for free electricity. He warned that action will be taken if electricity is consumed without permission.

Revanth Reddy said that there should be coordination between the government and the administrators regarding Ganesh Navratri celebrations. In view of the estimated 1.50 lakh idols installed in the Outer Ring Road last year, the Chief Minister suggested that the possibility of immersing all the idols in other ponds besides Hussain Sagar should be explored.

He said that this will reduce the congestion at Sagar and the government will be able to make the necessary arrangements for immersion at the respective ponds in advance. He instructed them to prepare foolproof planning to ensure area-wise idols immersion processions.

Revanth Reddy wanted the officials to focus on September 17, which was a significant day for Telangana and also on the same day Ganesh nimajjanam takes place. He said particularly the VVIP movement, besides political and non-political programmes should be monitored.
