Following a streak of box office disappointments, Nithiin’s recent film ‘Robinhood,’ featuring Sree Leela and a special role by Australian cricketer David Warner, was released with much anticipation on March 28, 2025. However, despite the buzz, the film failed to meet the expectations and turned out to be a commercial failure. With the series of flops, Nithiin is now fully focused on his next project, ‘Thammudu.’
This upcoming film is crucial not just for the actor but also for producer Dil Raju, who also needs a hit after the underwhelming performance of Game Changer. Both are hoping to bounce back with a strong comeback and are planning carefully for the release.
The film shares its title with a Powerstar Pawan Kalyan classic and has already generated buzz among audiences. The makers initially planned to release it on Maha Shivaratri 2025, but it has been delayed due to various reasons. After that, they planned to release on May 9, but it clashed with Pawan Kalyan’s Hari Hari Veera Mallu, which is also now postponed.
Now, rumors suggest the makers are eyeing a new release date in July. It is reported that Thammudu is scheduled to hit theaters on July 4, and the news is doing rounds on the internet. However, there is no official confirmation yet from the makers, but it is expected that they may soon announce it.
Former actress Laya is playing Nithiin’s sister’s role in this flick. Kantara actress Sapthami Gowda is rumored to be the female lead. Directed by Venu Sriram, the film is produced by Sri Venkateswara Creations. B. Ajaneesh Loknath composed the music.
