Days ahead of his taking oath, TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu has started shifting key officers, who were known to their proximity with chief minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy and allegedly involved in large scale irregularities. The first axe was shown on the administrative head- Chief Secretary.
A day after the existing Chief Secretary K S Jawahar Reddy was forced to go on leave, Senior IAS officer Nirabh Kumar Prasad of AP cadre was appointed as the Chief Secretary of AP on Friday.
Orders have been issued to this effect. Meanwhile, the current CS Jawahar Reddy has been transferred by the government. To this extent, GAD Political Secretary Suresh Kumar issued a GO. Nirabh Kumar Prasad has so far served as Special Chief Secretary for Forest, Environment and Science departments. He is a 1987 batch IAS officer.
Moreover, formation of the Chief Minister’s Office (CMO) has also started. Special Chief Secretary Muddada Ravichandra will take charge of the CMO. He was appointed as Special Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister. Two or three more officers are likely to be appointed in two days.
Meanwhile, officials have started preparations for Chandrababu’s swearing-in as the Chief Minister on June 12th. Naidu has already informed DGP Harish Kumar Gupta asking him to take care as Prime Minister Narendra Modi and chief ministers of several NDA ruled states will be attending the same.
TDP and Jana Sena leaders have been accusing out-going chief secretary Jawahar Reddy for his proximity with YSRCP and also his involvement in large scale land encroachments near Visakhapatnam and Bhogapuram. It is claimed that the farmers were threatened and their lands were written off and free hold certificates were obtained.
On the other hand, hectic lobbying is going on by senior IPS officers to get DPG post in the new government.
