Minister Nara Lokesh of the state’s Education, IT, and Electronics departments announced that from next year, there will be a policy of one teacher per class in government schools. Today, Minister Nara Lokesh conducted a surprise inspection at the Municipal Corporation Elementary School in the Ecchearla Street of Srikakulam. He examined the classrooms of students from grades 1 to 5, personally observing the progress of the students’ education by asking various questions.
When he asked the students about their favorite subjects, they mentioned English and EVS (Environmental Studies). He inquired about the quality of the midday meals at the school, what their parents were doing, whether their uniforms and bags were in good condition, and received answers to these questions.
Upon reviewing the students’ workbooks, the minister praised the children’s handwriting. Teachers informed him that they were assigning copywriting exercises to improve handwriting, and he congratulated them. Lokesh stated that they would consider implementing this same policy in all schools across the state.
He suggested to the officials that since students are showing interest in local food for the midday meal, they should explore incorporating those items into the menu.
During the school inspection, Minister Lokesh transformed into a teacher and conducted an IQ test with the students. He asked for the names of various objects in English, and the students responded in Telugu. He expressed joy at the children’s enthusiastic responses and their playful antics. When a girl mentioned that the boys had broken the classroom door, he humorously remarked, ‘You all seem to be like rowdies!’ He shared that he too used to be mischievous in his childhood.
When asked what they wanted, the students said they needed benches, to which he replied that arrangements would be made soon. He encouraged the students to study well and bring a good name to their parents, particularly advising them to take good care of their mothers. In unison, the students responded affirmatively. He also noted that the exhibits prepared by the students were impressive.
