Minister Nara Lokesh has come out strongly against former Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s allegations regarding land allotments in the Ursa cluster. Addressing the controversy, Lokesh categorically denied the claim that land was allocated at a mere 99 paise per acre. He challenged Jagan to prove the allegation and vowed to resign if the former CM’s accusations were true.
Lokesh clarified that the land was allotted strictly based on current market value and said the claims made by Jagan were entirely baseless and misleading. Criticising Jagan’s political approach, Lokesh said the YSRCP leader had a pattern of accusing everyone of corruption without facts, in an attempt to divert attention.
On the liquor scam issue, Lokesh assured that the investigation is being conducted transparently and without any political bias, with a focus on ensuring justice rather than vengeance.
Speaking about progress and economic revival, Lokesh highlighted the coalition government’s focus on Rayalaseema. He accused the previous YSRCP administration of scaring away industries and said the new government is determined to bring them back. As part of the state’s growth vision, he reiterated the promise of creating 20 lakh employment opportunities by promoting the IT and industrial sectors.
Reassuring the public, Lokesh said the current government will work in line with people’s expectations and ensure transparency at every level. He expressed his willingness to take up any role entrusted by the party leadership.
He also announced that all nominated posts will be filled by June 12, adding that eligible leaders will be given responsibilities at the right time. Furthermore, Lokesh revealed plans to form working groups from the mandal level to the national level, with structured feedback sessions every three months to monitor performance and strengthen governance.
