After this development of alliance government in Andhra Pradesh, a gale of political storm seems to have entered. Since the dawn of YSR Congress Party (YSRCP) at the helm, it has been quite an arduous time for the party leadership. Reports say that the legal barrage, so far focused on the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) and Jana Sena activists, has now begun focusing on the YSRCP members.

The first case in his 45-year political career he has managed to find a prison cell, but it is during Chief Minister Y.S. Jagan Mohan Reddy’s governance. The challenges have been the highlights of legal cases against TDP members in general so far in YSRCP’s governance. High-profile cases have been filed against TDP leaders, including Nara Chandrababu Naidu.

Following this, Nara Lokesh filed a case against the Sakshi newspaper for spreading malicious stories against his person. He has claimed ₹75 crores in damages for libel, saying that the newspaper had circulated false news and promotional campaigns that harmed him both by dislocating his public image and by degrading his political persona.

Nara Lokesh himself has been appearing in the court hearing over this case. He claims that reports from Sakshi are misleading and have false claims to malign him. Lokesh claims that the newspaper is trying to make people believe in these false reports and he has also sought legal remedies against the publication and its management. Locosh was very clear on not giving up the legal battle and sought to undo all the damage that was being done to his reputation and challenge all the narratives in circulation.

The story primarily revolves around pending judicial disputes and their reverberations in the political arena of Andhra Pradesh. It sheds light on the present scenario within the state’s governance system and its convolutions.
