Nara Lokesh slams ASER Report Exposed Jagan’s Destruction of Education system

Minister for IT and Education Nara Lokesh has lamented that the destruction of the government education system during Jagan Reddy’s rule has been revealed by the National Survey Organization’s Annual Status of Education Report (ASER) report.

He accused that the former Chief Minister YS Jaganmohan Reddy, who claimed to be an uncle during the campaign, has once again proven to be a scoundrel. Lokesh criticized that he has not taken minimum steps to improve education standards except spending hundreds of crores of rupees for publicity.

The Minister said that the ASER report clearly revealed how the government education standards, which were better during the TDP regime in 2018, have deteriorated under the YSRCP regime. He said that the rulers of the previous government brought arbitrary orders and closed government schools.

Lokesh deplored that students are in a state where they cannot even remember letters and numbers, and that even basic infrastructure like drinking water and toilets have not been provided in schools. Almost half of the eighth-grade students are unable to read even second-grade books properly, and he explained that he has taken many steps in the past seven months to fix the destroyed education system.

He said that he has initiated many changes by constantly holding review meetings with the officials and learning the facts at the field level. He said that after knowing how many students are studying in the government education system, he has started preparing a curriculum in line with the changing times and making efforts to provide value-based education.

Meanwhile, Lokesh is working on many issues such as providing guidance to students in other fields including sports, providing minimum infrastructure in the school, and solving the problems faced by teachers. Lokesh announced that he is going to formulate the Andhra Pradesh Model of School Education soon to bring about radical changes in the government education system and get the opinions of the people and educationists.
