Asserting that Visakhapatnam will be made better than Hyderabad city, Minister Nara Lokesh said that steps are being taken to make Visakhapatnam the fifth economic capital in the country and he will bring a trillion dollar economy to North Andhra Pradesh itself. He laid the foundation stone of Varun Bay Sounds Hotel, run by Varun Group, at the Visakha beach.
Speaking on the occasion, Lokesh said that Varun Bay Sands Hotel will become an iconic hotel for the state and Visakhapatnam is being transformed into an industrial and IT hub. In the last 10 months, he said that many projects have been brought to Visakhapatnam. He assured that 5 lakh IT jobs will be created in Visakhapatnam in the next 5 years. The Minister said that the government is working hard to maintain the Visakhapatnam brand.
He said that even those who had previously turned away from investing are now coming forward with the arrival of the coalition government. Our Chief Minister is not asking for ease of doing business.. but the speed of doing business, he said. He accused that Visakhapatnam, which was 9th the largest economic city was brought down to the tenth position during the YS Jaganmohan Reddy’s regime.
Lokesh said that Visakhapatnam will become an IT destination in Andhra Pradesh and revealed that the road map has already been completed. He said that Visakhapatnam is a suitable place for all kinds of development. He said that Visakhapatnam is a vibrant city where hotels, concerts and cricket matches are held.
He said that the Amaravati buildings will be constructed in three years. He said that he is confident that the hotel being constructed by Varun Group will be completed in two years. Stating that Bhogapuram International Airport will be opened within a year, he said that it will be opened before Vijayawada Airport. State Ministers Anita, Nadendla Manohar, Union Minister Rammohan Naidu and former union minister Ashok Gajapathi Raju participated in this program.
