IT Minister Nara Lokesh said that the AP is changing its image with a brand called Chandrababu Naidu. He performed the ground-breaking ceremony for the compressed bio-gas plant (CBG) to be set up by Reliance in PC Pally mandal, Devarapalli, Prakasam district. This project will be crucial to making the state a leader in biofuel production, he said.
Reliance will invest Rs. 65,000 crores for this project. With these funds, a total of 500 CBG plants will be set up. Minister Lokesh said that the first plant is being built in Kanigiri, and this investment will provide employment opportunities to 2.50 lakh people in AP. He said that he has kept the first promise given in Yuvagalam in Kanigiri.
He said that green and renewable electricity will be generated through these plants using agricultural waste. Each compressed biogas plant will have a production capacity of 22 tons per day. About 5 lakh acres of unused land will be used for energy plantation, he added.
The minister assured that efforts will be made for the railway project in Kanigiri. He praised the completion of the Veligonda project as the goal of the coalition government and said that Deputy Chief Minister Pawan Kalyan is a person who can achieve whatever he sets his mind to.
He deplored that “The last five years have been a destructive rule in AP. The previous government did nothing for Prakasam district and chased out existing companies. We have seen a situation where industries were chased out of the state because they were not given shares”.
“If a paper mill was brought to Prakasam district, the YSRCP government would chase it out. I am challenged to mention the name of at least one company brought in during the YSRCP regime?”, he added.
Lokesh said that so far, agreements have been made for investments worth Rs. 8 lakh crore and the government’s idea is to provide 20 lakh jobs in five years. “We are preparing the ground for the establishment of biogas plants. I am proud that we are fulfilling the promises made”, he said.
Reliance spokesperson Tripathi said that they have already invested Rs 1 lakh crore in the state. He said that biogas plants are being set up in many places in AP. He read out the message sent by Anant Ambani to this effect. He assured that the shape of this region will change in two years.
